İstiklal Avenue is reserved for pedestrians, so cars cannot enter it; if the hotel has an entrance facing İstiklal you may have to walk through side streets with your luggage. The İstiklal area is crowded all day and late into the night; take this into account when walking with luggage. Many hotels in Beyoğlu are on narrow, sloping, one-way streets, and the driver may drop you at the nearest corner the car can reach rather than at the hotel door.
